REvitalized!!!

Hey ALL...

I bet you are all wonder where I was all this time, totally avoiding updating my blog and all...
Well, Things have been very hectic lately, and I sorta had writer's block too.

Everytime I sat down to try to update my blog, I was sure that I was going to write an extremely boring post, Or something that made no sense!

Well, Here's some news in my life:

Street Latin Medal Examination

Of course, I can't post an entry without writing about the TOtaL Embarassment I had last Saturday, when I turned up to my Medal Examination for Street Latin. Oh, It sure was Bad! After AbsoLuteLy Stuffing up on the Dance Floor, I just wanted to leave Grand Buffet Hall with a newspaper covering my face or something.

Basically, It went like this:
I was prepping up for my exam, practising with a classmate on the side, and I was actually feeling confident as well! Oh, how wrong I was.

Well, after being called onto the floor, I walked on with confidence, to the middle, stomach in, chest out, all ready...

THen the music started...

Oh, No I didn't stuff up here, but I actually started pretty well, doing the beginning of the routine smoothly.

And It Happened.
I paused.
I Didn't know what was next.
What Was next?!?!?!

Okay, damage control, I do a basic move to cover my mistake.

Again, my brain was blank.

Crap! Lets do another basic.

Brain Blank again!!! What is Wrong with me!?!?!?!

Sigh, and from there on, It went all downhill. I did my other routines half-heartedly, and finished my session.

ARGHHHHH, basically, I was so darn embarassed/pissed with myself, I left the hall as soon as I could.

Well, after an angry story, its always my principle to end it on a good note,
SO, today, I got my mark sheet back.

Hmm, Not bad, I got 76....
I guess the examiner was very, extremely, immensely kind.
I need to thank him the next time I see him. Really.

Moral of the story: Well, Time to learn from past mistakes!!!

Last day of NLCAC

Hello people!
hello from the woody, chilly areas of Newcastle!
Wassarp~

Issue #1
Sickness sucks
basically, i've been sick for the past few days, down on flu. Sigh... My nose, my throat, even my EARS, feel like they're on fire!! Man, if this persists, i'll start to have a temper akin to a dragon, breaThing Fire at everyone in sight.

Issue #2
The notorious Victorians
Seems that us victorians have been notorious this time around, for our constant stream of procedural motions and amendment motions just keep coming, although to the frustration and anger of the others on the conference floor. Hey! We're just being OVERly-critical of everything that happens. Anyway, GO VICtorians!

Currently feeling:
Still sick, but getting better. 50% better actually, as one nostril smells the nice smells of the woodlands, but the other, is FLAMING like hot chilli! ARGH! wish me well, guys.

NLC Annual Conference

Okay, In about 8 hours, I will be on a plane off to Newcastle, off to attend the annual conference for the national liaison committee (NLC)

A lot of people ask me, what am I gonna do there?

Well, something tells me its gonna be a whole week of debating over the issues facing international students in Australia as a whole. Sounds grand and important eh? Issues like Visa conditions, VSU, Transport Concession, etc. Ooooo, there's bound to be some hot debates coming up.

OR, it could just be a week, totally boring, spent wishing for the day I come back.

What shall it be?
oh, some have told me that the 'extra'-curricular activities there will be pretty interesting.

Oh well, Let's see, shall we?
Check back in a week!

Holiday Holiday...........

Its already holiday. Exams are over.
So? I have lots of free time? time to go walk at the park, time to play badminton, time to read a book...

Hah! realisty is harsher.

See, the problem with holiday time is, everyone expects most people to be Free, with so much time, that each passing day no longer matters. Oh... I'm finding that nowadays, that is such a misconception.

Frankly, I think I'm having more stress than during term time, LoL... Interesting eh?
I've been getting very little sleep, spending all my time out, and if i'm at home, i'll be rushing my MUOSS stuff, making posters, and other publicity material.

Well, due to my 'lazyness' (as a certain someone commented), I haven't been keeping up with my blogging. As a treat, I'll give all of you guys a sneak peek at what I've been working on these few weeks. Enjoy!

PS: these will make their debut at Mid-Year Orientation 2005!

Murphy's Law - three down, one to go...

Wonder if this qualifies as a case of murphy's law, but for today's exam, I was so darn stressed for it.
This morning, I got to the exam hall (REB) only to find that... the exam was like,
a total disappointment.
The sample exam was hard, so was past papers, I was worried i couldn't do all the questions in the exercise booklet.
BUT, Not only was it easier than all previous exams, But to think I was so worried, I sure was worrying for nothing, eh?
anyway, exam aftermath:

  • finished all 12 questions (including bonus ones)
  • finished with time to spare
  • and, even had time to twiddle my fingers
Conclusion: AWESOME! totally Knocked it down! Gimme FIVE! HeLL YEah!

Ahh, the cold, harsh world...

Crappy Jobs Can Kill
Onerous, soul-destroying, low-level jobs aren't much fun. Plus, they up your chances for heart disease, says a British research team. HealthDay News reports that a 20-year study of 2,197 men in the British civil service found faster heart rates and lower heart-rate variability -- lessened response to outside stimuli -- among men with subordinate positions and less job control. Those same factors are linked to heart disease. Researchers concluded that the autonomic nervous system, which controls such subconscious functions as heartbeat, somehow responds to environmental factors. So, what's a lowly, disgruntled employee to do? "Someone who feels stressed out or unhappy about a job should take very good care of themselves and give consideration to changing jobs," said researcher Eric Brunner.
Conclusion: another reason to be ruthless, cold-hearted b*stard in climbing the corporate ladder...
